Nedra's Approach to Therapy

Nedra's integrative, person-centered style centres on providing you with a supportive relationship, an understanding of your needs, and a focus on your goals for counselling. She believes every individual possesses inner strengths and capabilities, and her role is to help uncover and strengthen them, offering a supportive, non-judgemental space to process thoughts, feelings, or trauma, and build resilience. Alongside her expertise in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, EMDR, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), she incorporates play-based and sandtray techniques — particularly with younger clients — adapting to each client's needs, goals, and developmental stage so therapy is accessible, effective, and meaningful.

Nedra's Specialties

Nedra is a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree and over 20 years of experience as a therapist, with extensive expertise supporting children, teens, young adults, and families. She is passionate about helping clients address challenges including anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship issues, trauma recovery, and grief and loss — providing support through current struggles while also building tools for long-term growth, rooted in empathy, warmth, and deep respect for each client's experiences, struggles, and strengths.

Common Questions

You do not need to be in crisis. Many people come in feeling stuck or sensing something is off, even when life looks fine from the outside. Curiosity is enough to start.
Mostly a conversation. A chance to share what brought you in, what you are hoping for, and what kind of support would feel most helpful. No pressure to have it figured out before you arrive.
Both offer the same quality of care. Virtual therapy can be easier for flexibility, while in-person therapy may feel better if you prefer being in the room together.
It depends on what you are working through. Some people benefit from a few focused sessions. Others prefer longer-term support. There is no fixed timeline. It is shaped around your goals.
Completely normal. A free consultation is available if you'd like to ask a few questions first, but it is optional. You are also welcome to take more time before booking an appointment.
Select insurance plans may be accepted. Ask at booking to confirm whether your plan is covered for therapy appointments.
