Julie's Approach to Therapy

Julie understands how important it is to feel truly heard, supported, and respected in therapy. With over 20 years of experience, she brings a calm, thoughtful, and compassionate presence to every session, helping clients feel at ease from the very first conversation. Her approach is collaborative and grounded in empathy — she takes the time to understand who you are, what matters to you, and what you hope to gain from therapy. Sessions are personalized and paced with care, focused on helping you reduce overwhelm, strengthen connections, clarify values, and reconnect with your authentic self. Drawing from evidence-based modalities and a strengths-focused lens, Julie helps clients uncover resilience, gain insight, and build practical tools they can carry into daily life.

Julie's Specialties

Julie works with individuals and couples (18+), providing support for a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, parenting challenges, fertility, adoption, caregiving stress, and major life transitions. She has a particular passion for women's health and is deeply committed to supporting women through all phases of life — from reproductive health and postpartum adjustment to identity shifts, burnout, and caregiving roles. She also offers family-based counselling to support parents in balancing the demands of raising children with their own wellbeing.

Common Questions

You do not need to be in crisis. Many people come in feeling stuck or sensing something is off, even when life looks fine from the outside. Curiosity is enough to start.
Mostly a conversation. A chance to share what brought you in, what you are hoping for, and what kind of support would feel most helpful. No pressure to have it figured out before you arrive.
Both offer the same quality of care. Virtual therapy can be easier for flexibility, while in-person therapy may feel better if you prefer being in the room together.
It depends on what you are working through. Some people benefit from a few focused sessions. Others prefer longer-term support. There is no fixed timeline. It is shaped around your goals.
Completely normal. A free consultation is available if you'd like to ask a few questions first, but it is optional. You are also welcome to take more time before booking an appointment.
Select insurance plans may be accepted. Ask at booking to confirm whether your plan is covered for therapy appointments.
